Versatile 3D‐Printed Micro‐Reference Electrodes for Aqueous and Non‐Aqueous Solutions

While numerous reference electrodes suitable for aqueous electrolytes exist, there is no well-defined standard non-aqueous electrolytes. Furthermore, are often large and do not meet the size requirements small cells. In this work, we present a simple method fabricating stable 3D-printed micro-reference electrodes. The prints made from polyvinylidene fluoride, which chemically inert in strong acids, bases, commonly used solvents. We chose six different systems based on Ag, Cu, Zn, Na, including three to demonstrate versatility of approach. Subsequently, conducted cyclic voltammetry experiments measured potential difference between homemade commercial Ag/AgCl-electrode. For electrodes, ferrocene redox couple as an internal standard. From these measurements, deduced that new class leak-tight shows electrode potential.
